SUNDAY JANUARY 21st
Self-Awareness
I remember thinking that self awareness is an act of looking into the past and analyzing what I remember. That is what I always used to call self-awareness. The "Self" I was being "Aware" of was a memory that my mind created.
But now I think that past and future do not exist, are stories created by mind, and that the present moment, Now, is the only true reality.
Therefor for me to be Self-Aware would be to bring my awareness to what is right here right now.
I can wake up to my awareness of the sensations of the body, the breath on the skin of my inner nose, my upper lip, the rising and falling of my belly and chest as I breathe. I can feel my cheeks and arms, the clothing touching my skin, the sounds in the living world around me, the subtle subtle sounds, and the light entering my head. The scent in the air, the quietly vibrating ground beneath my chair, the Planet. The mind sensations of people/beings around me or nearby, energies lingering in this room or place, lingering from previous visitations that I cannot see.
When all of these energetic sensations are being interpreted by the mind at every moment, stories are being told by my self to my self. Perhaps this is where my Self-Awareness is needed most?
