What is a HOLOGRAM?
SUNDAY JANUARY 21st
THE VESSEL OF THEMES
When you come to Cottonwood Gathering you have the opportunity to contribute theme ideas to the Vessel of Themes.
Write the thought onto a slip of paper, fold it in half, and drop it into the glittering Vessel.
At the end of each Gathering, someone reaches in to the vessel and pulls one of the ideas out and reads it aloud, and this then becomes the theme for the following week.
Here's what gently arose its power last Sunday:
“What is a Hologram?”
I just heard a scientist saying that every cell in the body has a complete description of the entire body, and I thought "That's like a Hologram!"
"Gram" means a contained message, and "Holo" means the whole. A hologram in commonly recognized as a 3-Dimensional image that has the entire object in it so that you can turn it around and see it completely from every angle.
Remarkably, if you break apart the hologram into pieces, each piece is like a little window into the entire object, seen from that particular angle.
There is an interesting idea that the Universe is a ginormous hologram, and there is a great book examining that theory, called "The Holographic Universe" by Michael Talbot. Easy to read and very fun and deep.
